SAMI HalfDay™

What is it?
A half day session, which is suitable for using as part of senior management Away Days or think tank task forces.

Why use it?
The world balance is changing. In this new world order, companies need to understand the strengths and weaknesses, and the opportunities and threats of a diverse set of players. These players are the competition but also governments, shareholders and other stakeholders: reputation also travels globally. Managers need to act – consider options, adopt strategies, and implement.

Who can benefit?

  • Organisations which are concerned that the normal strategic planning process may be missing some potential disruptive changes in the business environment.
  • Organisations which are aware of changes in the business environment, but unsure of options for pro-active or re-active measures or opportunities, will benefit from the creation of a shared language and making assumptions explicit – and challenged.

How does it work?
It starts with a comprehensible and insightful presentation on the challenges of the new global dynamic, then turns the insights into plans for your organization.

What is the process?
The SAMI HalfDay™ combines three facets.

  • First, a mind-expanding exposition of the forces at work which are structuring the new order, based on our extensive database of trends.
  • Second, a discussion of the pre-selected topic, industry or country of interest.
  • Third, a facilitated workshop to help the team focus on responses and decisions.

Duration
The research needed to mount a successful SAMI HalfDay™ session can usually be completed within a month, depending on access to senior people to ensure the focus of the event is well targeted.

Outcomes
The outcomes include

  • Shared understanding and strategic vision within the senior management team.
  • Material to support ongoing strategy planning.
  • A set of options and recommendations.
