Michael Owen is Chairman of the Board of SAMI, which is responsible for such functions as strategic direction; 5-year business plan; corporate accounting and legal issues; and succession planning. Gill Ringland is the CEO and chairs the SAMI Executive, which is responsible to the Board for execution of the strategy and day-to-day running of SAMI.

Under guidance from Board and the Executive, SAMI also comprises:
Fellows, who have been senior managers in large organisations and have tackled the real issues facing organisations today. Their experience ranges from FTSE 100 companies and the public sector, to startups and the voluntary sector. Fellows take responsibility for SAMI projects.
Principals, who are recognised experts in their field, as futurists, planners, strategists or change management experts.
Consultants and Associates, who work with us on specific projects and have in depth expertise – in Financial Services, Construction and Property, Human Resources, ICT, Information Science, Innovation, Law, Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Planning Project Management, Scenario Planning, or Visual Arts.

We co-operate with a number of organisations to deliver projects in the UK and world-wide.

SAMI Consulting was set up as St Andrews Management Institute in 1989 and was incorporated in 1999. Since 1989 it has completed over 180 projects in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Our experience has been gained across a range of large and small companies, and industries from oil to manufacturing, telecoms, IT and pharmaceuticals, construction and financial services, and with NGOs and central and local government. We have worked in 18 countries.
