Joe Little

Joe Little is currently an Honorary Professor and Digital Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Stirling as well as a Board Advisor and Futurist. He has 38 years of industry experience at BP, BAe (Space and Comms) and beyond. His primary focus in the last decade and half has been researching emerging technology, educating executives and business leaders on their likely impact and disruption as well as running evangelisation programs to pilot the technologies within key business areas and more latterly helping those businesses develop digital transformation strategies that keep the enterprise relevant on a 10-20 year horizon. Specific studies focussed on the Future of the Global Lubricants Industry on a 10 year time frame for the Castrol Business against the impact of additive manufacturing, EVs and supply chain globalisation and intense counterfeiting, The Future of Work on a 20 year time frame for Group Leadership, Talent Management and HR against the impact of several Industry 4.0 themes, The Future of the Airport for AirBP and its partners on a 20 year time frame looking at the potential of AI, Machine Learning, UAV inspections, blockchain turnaround tracking, autonomous refuelling, robotics and biometrical onboarding. Working closely with VCs, SMEs, startups, academia and major research groups he lead several waves of technology evangelisation in the BP group such as Immersive Technology (virtual worlds, gamification, VR/AR, remote operations, Digital Twins), Satellite imaging and Robotics. He has presented keynotes at many conferences as well as at Stanford, MIT Sloane, University of Edinburgh Business School and IE Madrid. In addition to this he has co authored chapters in 2 books "Learning in 3D" with Karl Kapp and Tony O'Driscoll and "Next Generation Learning Unwrapped" with Nick Van Damm.
